Humanities

Today we worked on our Time Capsule. We went through expectations, as well as what we are looking for. Here are the steps we went over:

1. Pick an item that represents your worldview relating to EACH worldview element. (So you will have 7 items in total for each element).

2. Explain why you chose this item to represent the worldview element.
- your writing must be highly descriptive
- Must be in paragraph form

3. Pick an object to store your items in. You can draw it or explain it.

4. Present to the class on Wednesday Oct 12.

Here is an example of what we expect:

Geography is incredibly important to me. I grew up by the ocean and this heavily influenced my worldview. If I were to put an item relating to geography in my time capsule, it would be a seashell, as to me, this represents the ocean. Living by the ocean affected my family, as my Dad was in the Navy. He would go away for long periods of time, sometimes 6-7 months, and I would miss him a lot. Lots of people we knew had jobs relating to the ocean, such as fishermen, and ship builders, and their whole life revolved around the ocean. Whenever I think of the ocean, I feel peace, but also fear, as there have been times where I have had some close calls when swimming in strong tides, and I learned the hard way that I need to respect the ocean. This seashell, representing the ocean, helps explain my worldview, in relation to geography.
