2-Minute Talk

Today was a continuation of our current event on Friday.  We took the Carbon Tax article and jotted our personal opinions and reflections.  After, we had to speak in small groups for 2 minutes regarding our topic.  Please see below for the actual assignment:

TASK # 1. Locate your news article from the previous station.  This can be an online newspaper or a real paper newspaper.
Lastly you need to think about your personal opinion on this story.  You need to also be able to defend how your selected story connects to worldview.
You are to do all of this in preparation for your two minute tell.

What is this?

Well…. In your Daily 5 groups you will each have two minutes approximately to share your article with the team. In this time frame you need to share the big ideas connected to your article. You are allowed to use your notes as a reference BUT DO NOT READ OFF your paper (This is SO boring to listen to!!!).

Know your story well enough that you can easily fill two minutes talking about what it is all about and how it connects to worldviews as you understand it to be. You might also want to share a visual that accompanies your story and this also makes sharing more enjoyable.

Ideas connected to worldview include: values, beliefs, traditions culture, religion, technology, geography, contact with other groups, politics, economics, social systems, ideas and knowledge and government.
